"I needed a checking account and made it to this bank 2 hours before they were to close. Unfortunately, the three staff members of this Bank could not help me open a basic checking account even though I was the only customer. I made an appointment for the next day and came in at the designated time. Even though I had a valid California state driver's license and a large cash initial deposit, they were still unable to create a basic checking account for me. I sat in a chair and waited for a corporate response from Francisco's inquiry, but none came within 20 minutes, and I was told to to leave and that I would get a call and be able to finish the process as soon as that email response came through from corporate. After 4 days, I am giving up and writing off this Bank as a waste of my time. UPDATE: Luckily, an angel stepped in to help me with my banking woes and I received a call from this Bank. Turns out, they are paying attention and they do care. Now that the third party snag is over, perhaps I'll be back in business after tomorrow's meeting! Yay for locally-owned banks."

"Nope! I moved to Ventura @ 5 months ago and needed a local bank for money orders, bill pay, transfers, etc. (We previously used TD bank, which is an East Coast jawn, I guess). Well, I've been repeatedly dissatisfied and disappointed with the Bank of the Sierra: They've had "computer problems/computer system down," and the ATM has been OOO too many times (imho) in the short few months since I opened my account here. Once, the tellers seemed to check out an hour early and asked me to come back another day since they were too busy "closing up" to help me with my account. Simply put, the Bank of the Sierra has been entirely too unreliable & unable to meet my light/average banking needs. The tellers were nice, but I can't continue banking here just because we enjoy chatting with Francisco. I did not have a good experience here... Wells Fargo, here we come!"
