"No after hours returns and drop offs. This is entirely a first world problem but the problem is if I didn't point it out it would be another broken leg of the journey. *on to merry way as God's janitor*"

"The LA County Library system is the best. They have the most copies of best-sellers, and an incredible selection of audiobooks. But now to specifics, the Hawaiian Gardens Library, which is the closest location to me in OC. The best thing about this library is its FABOULOUS, helpful, friendly STAFF!!! I've seen them (Woody especially) notice someone is having a problem and go up to him and ask if he needs help. PROACTIVE!! I was getting a bunch of holds yesterday and the lady at the desk said "Another one just came in for you." She noticed and cared and saved me a long bike trip. They're smallish but it's part of the county system so there are millions of books available through FREE holds. And the marvelous thing about the county library is they still have old, hard-to-find books. They don't just purge willy-nilly but keep even older paperbacks. I won't mention the title of the rare old pricey paperback I wanted to read cause I don't want it to be stolen, but they had it! And I loved it!"
