About the Business
Welcome to Chet Holifield Library, a cherished community resource located at 1060 South Greenwood Avenue, Montebello, California. Established in February 1969 in honor of Congressman Chet Holifield, the library has been serving the residents of South Montebello for decades. Following a comprehensive refurbishment, the library reopened in January 2011, offering a modern and welcoming environment for all.
As part of the LA County Library system, Chet Holifield Library provides a wide array of services and programs designed to enrich the community. From participating in the annual Bookmark Contest that encourages young artists to showcase their creativity, to hosting engaging events like the One Book, One County celebration, there's always something happening here.
For tech-savvy visitors, the library offers Kindle Paperwhites pre-loaded with expertly selected titles, allowing you to enjoy reading without the need for internet access. Additionally, laptops are available for in-library use, providing access to digital resources and online homework help.
Our Family Place Library initiative focuses on early childhood development, offering resources and support for parents and young children. With the support of grants and community funding, our Homework Centers are equipped to assist students with their educational needs.
