"I will say that I prefer Lowe’s overall to Home Depot. But in this case, I had a better option of finding what I needed at Home Depot. We were looking for a large portable AC. We had above and beyond help from April who helped load the item on the cart. Then we decided to switch to a more economical option, which she swapped for us on the cart again. These items were super heavy for two petite women, including one senior citizen. In addition, April helped us to get connected with potential installers. At the end, she pushed the cart around the store, processed the checkout , and also helped us load the unit into the car. She was very sweet and did her job with a smile. Whoever is April’s supervisor, I hope you are seeing this review. She is a stellar employee."

"Would rather drive the extra 8 minutes to Monrovia - this store is always missing basics in plumbing and electricity. They recently added self checkout only for normal payout - which is the only option once the contractor side has closed. After walking through the store and picking out everything you need check yourself out sucks. And today - the self check out machines were all down leaving only the otherside of the store to check 50+ customers. Was the final straw. Drive the extra 8 minutes to Monrovia. Bigger store, more helpful, better stock, no mandatory self checkout."

"Had a poor customer service experience today. Store associate didn’t know where item was and directed me to the wrong place. He was too busy working on his own project to properly assist. I would have preferred that he had gotten another store associate to help. When I finally found the correct section, I was unable to find the correct item. The item, a GE dehumidifier, was showing up with 2 in stock at Pasadena online. I sought another employee to try to find the item. The store employee was who helped me was overly direct, telling me none were available and asking why I couldn’t just purchase the one on the shelf, which was $70 more. She directed me to call the Monrovia store and was helping me see if it was in stock at the other store, but wouldn’t not call herself because she had to leave for lunch. She asked another employee if he would call them, and he just shrugged (not sure why) and walked away. Ended up buying a way more expensive product and walking away feeling unhappy."

"Lots of friendly and helpful staff, but you might have to visit a different location to find what you need. For example I was looking for the E-900 one piece garage door hardware and it was available at the Alhambra store but not Pasadena. Overall good experience and lots of choices."

"This place is GREAT!! What a selection of… EVERYTHING. I was particularly amazed by their gardening and outdoor plants selection. Their prices on plants are the lowest I’ve encountered in Los Angeles! Even cheaper than Armstrong gardens. Inside there’s literally everything you could imagine for home improvement. There are lots of staff around to help too. I’ll become a regular for sure!"
