West Orange County Regional CERT

Welcome to the West Orange County Regional CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) website. Located at 911 Seal Beach Boulevard, Seal Beach, California, we are a local government office dedicated to enhancing community safety and disaster preparedness across the Western Orange County communities, including Seal Beach, Cypress, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, La Palma, Buena Park, and Westminster.

Our mission is to empower residents with the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves and their families during emergencies. Through our comprehensive CERT Basic Training and various community events, we equip individuals of all ages and abilities to effectively contribute in crisis situations, ensuring the greatest good for the greatest number of people.

West Orange County CERT is committed to ongoing education and community involvement. We organize training sessions, such as our recent enlightening presentation on autism by the AMUSE Foundation, which broadened our understanding and empathy towards individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. Our team actively participates in local events, from neighborhood programs to fairs, parades, and service activities, promoting awareness about emergency preparedness.

Our program operates on the National CERT model, emphasizing flexibility, leadership, and cross-training. We encourage community members to join our internal teams to help maintain our readiness and effectiveness. Training events are generally offered free of charge, and details can be found on our Training page.

Join us in our bi-monthly team training and pot-luck meeting, where members can refresh their CERT skills, receive team updates, and enjoy good food. Our meeting locations rotate among the six cities we serve, so please check your member email for details.
