"Avis Preferred 1st time pick up experience~ 1. Had to line up at counter for 1st time 2. Avis Shuttle were plenty, ours were nearly empty but some other ones came with fully loaded travellers. Very frequent. A few stops at LAX terminals purple zones. 3. Upon arrival, August 2024, basically no line-ups. At preferred counter where I was sent for first time.Avis Preferred Pick Up, there were 5 agents, plus not that many people so the short line-up gone through very quickly. 4. Selection of Rental Although the parking lot was filled with like cars, you can only swap by refresh the list on the app. My resvo is minivan for 4 adlts 2 kids plus luggages amd stroller, didnt like the 1st van, with high mileage and rough condition. Ended up swapping a Courtesy 8 Ppl Premium SUV (2022 ford expedition with less mileage and must better interior). But we were in the parking lot for abouy 1 hour choosing which cars to take, the whole time another Ford Expediation came up but not even 1 more minivan. Overall, prettt standard and statisfacotry experience."

"I arrived at the desk and was offered a Mazda. Once I left the area i saw the car light up and there was a message on the dash board showing in Spanish. I had to drive all the way back to get the message translated. It say push/start button error please have vehicle inspected. So I have to exchange my car for another car. I left the location once again thinking everything was ok and then the next day I was driving the car and it had a low tire pressure on the back tire. I proceeded to pump air in it at the gas station . But then a few hours later it deflated!! I was worried since I have kids in my car i didn’t want to run into issues. I had to ruin my plan by driving all the way to airport to get another car! 2 days into my trip I was on my third car!! I booked with Avis for a reason, it’s a big company and I didn’t think would have issues with car rentals. This inconvenience had ruin my trip. Instead of enjoying the activities I was going back and forth to exchange cars. This is unacceptable."

"Dears, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the vehicle I rented from your company on Los Angeles Airport at your branch. The rental agreement number is 768136585. Upon receiving the vehicle, I found it to be in an unacceptable condition. The car was not properly cleaned, with visible dirt and debris both inside and outside. Moreover, shortly after starting my journey, I discovered that one of the tires was punctured, making it impossible to drive safely. This issue not only caused significant inconvenience but also posed a safety risk. Given these circumstances, I had to take immediate action to address the tire issue, incurring additional expenses and wasting valuable time during my trip. This experience has been highly disappointing, as I expected to receive a vehicle in good working condition, reflective of the standards promised by your company. I am requesting a full refund for the rental period, along with reimbursement for any expenses I incurred due to the punctured tire. Enclosed are photographs of the car's condition. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response. Sincerely"

"I have previously rented with Avis before (a different location) and had the best experience so I decided to go with them again. However, when I arrived there, the two people at the counter went on a break at the same time. Several other customers and I had to stand around waiting until they came back. When they did come back, the person at the counter was rude from the very beginning of the interaction until the end and my family and I received a lot of attitude from the person “helping” us from the counter. The car we received did not come with a full tank of gas, it smelled terrible, and the car had ants crawling around in it from the moment we picked it up to the moment we dropped it off; despite it being a new car. The ants were crawling around the interior and also found its way onto myself and other family members in the car. This place would receive 0 stars if possible. I was also charged twice on my cards. Once online to lock in the price and then another charge in person and I have yet to receive a refund for either one of the charges. Overall, a terrible experience and would not recommend."
