Savannah who works in the office and I believe is the was so understanding of all of our wishes with our stone, She was very creative and detail oriented and really made this stone very special to us. "Purchased my mother and uncle headstone 4 months ago paid in full and was told from the daughter that they would call when they get in which supposedly was only supposed to take 3 months. Due to COVID-19 I was preparing for the headstones to take longer than expected but once I finally called the first excuse was that one headstone came in but not the other. The next excuse was one headstone wasn’t glossed which was a request by the family. We agreed that it would be fine, 2 weeks go by still no call from the company so I called again and the excuse was one of the photo for one of the headstones hasn't come in and I was assure they would find out the issue and give a call back. No call again so I called yet again and the newest excuse is that the lady that does some type of markings was on sick leave. Excuse after excuse, very unprofessional, I do not recommend. Update: 10/09/2020 owner came to put the headstones in which was unsuccessful due to a mistake make on the county’s part. When the county was called to try to resolve the situation the owner was extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional toward not only my grandmother and the county employee. When I arrived to see what the issue was the owner Immediately started cursing at me and I asked him why are you cursing at me that’s very rude he proceeds to explain yet still cursing is and then gets upset when I ask him about the way he’s talking to me and he pulls off mid conversation. I follow behind him again to ask him what’s the issue why are you driving off that’s very rude and he proceeds to pull off from me again. Overall this has been a terrible experience with this company I do not recommend them. This moment that was supposed to be sentimental to me and my family has now become a nightmare due to the lack of communication between the company and the family. I have never see a company so unprofessional. Also our stones still aren’t put in and at this point I’m not sure if they will be. I called the office and told the daughter/receptionist that whenever they do call could they just leave a voicemail because at this point I’m done converting with them."

"A very sad and very unprofessional place to deal with in a time of need. The unprofessionalism is incredible at this place. My father had passed away sometime this year and in the following 3 weeks, my family and I came to General Memorials Inc to place an order for a headstone. We paid 50% upfront and agreed to pay the balance once the headstone was finished. This is a family business from like “The HeeHaw Show,” or possibly “Mayberry” from the “Andy Griffith” show. The father runs the business, the secretary is his daughter and who knows what other family members are associated with it. After about 3 months of waiting, and no response from them, I decided to give them a call and check of the progression of the headstone. I was told by the father that he’s REALLY behind and no longer has a secretary so things have just, “fallin behind.” I told the owner, “it would have been nice if someone from your office could have givin my family and I a courtesy call to let us know they were WAY BEHIND schedule.” When we had initially made our order and paid 50% down, we were advised it could take as much as 3 months so we were prepared for the wait but 3 months later the owner is whining about being behind schedule cause he has no help from a secretary. Simple solution, hire another one. In our conversation he actually tried to place blame on everyone else except himself. After our conversation the owner stated the headstone would be ready in about 2 months and he would call us so we could pay the balance. 6 months later I had STILL not heard from him. I decided to give him a call. I spoke with the owner and he advised me the headstone was ready. I was soooo angry because my deceased father laid in an unmarked grave due to this slow, lazy, unmanaged business who CANNOT even give a grieving family a courtesy call to let them know the services that were paid for was ready for delivery. 6 WHOLE months we waited on a headstone. My family and I went the following day we were advised the headstone was ready to pay him his balance and find out the delivery date of the headstone to the burial site. The owner was paid the remaining 50% balance and he advised us the headstone would be delivered within the next 5 days because he would be in the area. Luckily for us we didn’t go on the scheduled day of delivery because once again he failed to come through. I think he actually set the stone 7 days later. I called him FIRST, before I wasted my time going to the burial plot and seeing no headstone. On day 7, after payment, he finally came through. I would suggest to seek a different provider of the services this company provides. Your loved ones will be buried in unnamed plots due to this company dragging their services and making excuses. I would recommend ONLY paying them 50% at the MOST if you have no other alternatives."
