First-time donors can expect their initial visit to take 1-2 hours, including a suitability screening, medical history, and health questionnaire. Subsequent visits are typically quicker, and we recommend calling ahead to find the best times for donating. Remember to bring a valid photo ID, Social Security Card, and proof of address. Active military personnel should provide their mailing and physical addresses.

Our Gretna center offers free WiFi and HD televisions to make your visit enjoyable. Feel free to bring books, tablets, or other personal entertainment devices, but please remember that phone calls and photographs are not allowed to ensure donor privacy.

To prepare for your donation, stay hydrated and eat protein-rich and iron-rich meals. For more preparation tips, visit our website. We adhere to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s guidelines, allowing two donations within a seven-day period, with at least 48 hours in between.

We highly encourage a second visit within 2 to 14 days after your first donation, as your initial donation sample is tested for safety. Rest assured, you are compensated for your first donation and subsequent visits.
