About the Business
Welcome to Atmore First Assembly of God Church, a cornerstone of spiritual life in Atmore, Alabama, for over 80 years. Located at 1120 South Main Street, our church has been a safe harbor for those in need, offering hope and guidance to the community since our founding in 1936. With a rich history of growth and dedication, we have continually adapted to serve our congregation and community better.
Our journey began on 2nd Avenue, and as our congregation grew, we moved to Craig Street in 1959. In 1989, thanks to the generous donation of land by Cliff and Flora Eddins, we established our current location on South Main Street. The first building, the South Sanctuary, became home to "Kingdom Kids" and served as the heart of our church activities until the completion of the North Wing in 2001.
Under the steadfast leadership of Pastor W. Don Davis, who joined us in 1987, our church has flourished. Pastor Davis has been a beacon of faith, leading initiatives like a thriving prison ministry and global missions that have resulted in the construction of 30 churches or schools across ten countries. His dedication is mirrored by his wife, Sara Davis, who has tirelessly contributed to various church programs and community events.
At Atmore First Assembly, we are committed to spreading the teachings of Christianity and serving as a beacon of hope. Our recent renovations reflect our commitment to growth and evolution, with expanded youth and community programs, including PWR HS.
We actively engage in outreach initiatives, charity drives, community service projects, and missions work, enriching both our members' lives and those we serve. Our vibrant church community welcomes individuals from all walks of life to join in worship, fellowship, and service.
