"Part of every business is how the office staff treat callers. A pleasant voice and a friendly attitude go far in establishing trust and appreciation from customers and potential customers. Every office has its busy moments, yet "we're busy here" should never be an excuse for dismissive behavior. I called as a public citizen enquiring about a construction site in Fort Myers at Cypress Lake shopping area. The first person I spoke with sounded 14 years old and had no idea. When I pressed, politely, for her to ask someone, I was put on hold and then a few seconds later the line disconnected. I called back, repeated my first name, explained I had been observing the construction over the course of weeks, and asked what it was they were building. I was rebuffed with the comment that I was a "BUSYBODY" for inquiring and they were "too busy". Click. The third call was placed after I went back to the site and asked one of the workers. This phone person said the office didn't bother to answer my question "because you didn't tell us who you were". And this comment after I identified myself by first name and as a frequent shopper at the center in both previous calls! WOW! The strongest impression from the construction crew was that they were doing a terrific job and I wanted to compliment the company and find out what business was being built -- 2 reasonable, legitimate, and certainly benign reasons to call. However, either too much coffee and stress or some version of CIA level secretiveness -- or both -- prompted the phone staff to transform a positive and appreciative Google Local Guide review into what is written here. Very sad to see the 5 star rating ruined by the unfriendly and unprofessional staff in the office. Sad. Clearly, the owners and/or management has established a hierarchy of valuable callers to their detriment."
