Budget Car Rental

"Car was in fine condition and as described. The only issue was waiting in line at SRQ to pick it up. They definitely need two employees to speed up the process. However, every single other rental car company in the airport had the same issue with lines and wait times, so it isn't unique to Budget. I would use them again."

"The guy who checked us in was nice & patient after a very long wait. But...check your receipt & credit card statement! I initially refused the pre-paid gas option when he asked because we fill it up ourselves before we return the car. They charged us for gas anyway. I am still in the process of disputing this with them to get it off my credit card. Budget Customer service said it would take a couple of days. That was shady and if they don't rectify, I will never use Budget again."

"Disappointing. The good: decent prices, friendly employees, easy to reserve and check out, fun car to drive. The bad: We were given the wrong car, had to walk back in, get the right car. The car we received wasn't particularly clean. 2 days into our rental experience we discovered one of the rear windows would not close all the way. After an hour or so of automated switcheroos, we finally spoke with a human being. Rather than deliver a car that would work properly to us, the only recourse was for us to take three hours out of our vacation to return our car (for a second time) and get another one. I get very few vacations through the year, so my vacation time is precious. It is not right that Budget's problem became my problem. Poor customer service. We ended up keeping the car and pulling the window up by hand. Will I rent from Budget again? Not if I have another choice. I don't leave a lot of bad reviews on Google, but Budget gave me no choice. I hope others have a better experience than I did."

"We rented our Budget vehicle through Costco . We have always had a great experience renting cars this way. At Budget pick up we were “upgraded” to a Ram 1500 from our original intermediate car. We agreed because it was the only vehicle ready and we did not want to wait any longer. At this point we were also informed that it would be an extra $72 since we were picking up 45 minutes earlier than planned. The large truck was troublesome parking with spring break crowds and not fuel efficient. We did drop off our car later than originally expected so we were expecting to pay an extra day. (I tried to call to change our drop off time but after waiting 30 minutes on the phone I gave up). We were originally expected to pay $450 with taxes and fees included for the week trip, our final invoice ended up being $200 more."

"The vehicle itself was a very nice vehicle to drive. My issue was the vehicle was filthy inside and out. Vehicle smelled like weed and that was with us all week. I went to the carwash myself and washed the outside. Windshield washer empty, oil change needed. In my opinion this vehicle should not have been given to a customer."
