"Sassy Cakes was recommended to me by my supervisor after I decided I wanted to order a custom cake for my professor's birthday. I reached out and was met with nothing but kindness and enthusiasm. I did not know what to expect when I requested an Arduino cake (all I provided was a picture of an Arduino), but the amazing bakers at Sassy Cakes went above and beyond to create the most intricate, gorgeous design possible. I was blown away when I first saw this cake. I have included some pictures with this review, but every little metal detail and label was included to make this cake look as realistic as possible. Even the color is perfect. When my professor saw it he didn't want to cut it up! The technical details were so precise he was shocked the cake didn't light up! Communication before my order and leading up to pick-up were clear and helpful. All my questions were answered and any miscommunications were quickly resolved. When I came to pick up the cake, everyone in the bakery was extremely welcoming and excited to show me my order. The cake was packaged with care and I was given detailed instructions on how to properly care for the cake before serving. Finally, I want to address the actual taste of the cake. I know usually cake decor doesn't taste the best, but the decorations on this cake actually tasted amazing! Most of it was frosting rather than fondant, so it came out wonderful. For the inside of the cake, I asked for a carrot cake with cream cheese icing (my professor's favorite) and the cake was perfect. I have high standards for desserts, and this cake was delicious. The carrot cake had the perfect balance of spices and was very moist, while the cream cheese icing was perfectly sweet with a good cream cheese taste. Myself, my professor, and about 20 other students tried the cake. Everyone loved it! Thank you so much to Sassy Cakes for making this birthday celebration so special.
