"This place was awesome. We expected it to be a load of boring farm machinery, but in fact it is a collection of buildings moved from other parts of NY state. In most of the buildings was an interpreter dressed in period costume doing whatever was done in each building. They offered amazing insights into life in bygone days. Being a working farm, there are kitchen gardens and animals to see, too. Well worth the entrance fee. You can also get a combined ticket which gives entry to the art museum housed in a beautiful old mansion opposite."

"Fabulous place to spend an afternoon. There is so much to see. Historic buildings, plants and animals. Lovely walks and beautiful views. The staff is amazing and filled with information about life in farming communities. Be sure to immerse yourself in the recent exhibition about pollinators in that large barn."

"Good times and great for the kids. Went on a school field trip with my sons 4th grade class and they all had tons of fun. The scenery there is also very beautiful."

"Learn some history of 19th century life with actors re-enacting what was life during those times. There are demonstrations about iron works, medicine and farming including real life animals. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes since you will be walking a lot moving from one structure to another in the historic village."
