"I unfortunately am giving this one star to the whole office even though it was only one department that failed "we the peoples" first amendment audit. There seems to be no google page for the count clerks office or the public records department that I was able to find. Never the less, there are unconstitutional signs posted in the public records office saying that the public is not allowed to video record or photograph the public records available in the building. They are misinformed and believe it is their right to deny access to copies of the documents without paying for them. Yes, they can charge for copies they make, but not if we use our own means to make the copies without their assistance. I find these signs often intimidate the public from doing what they are constitutionally able to do and spread misinformation about or civil rights. I would love to see these signs taken down and the public able to access their information unmolested. It's a shame, though, that I have to give this one star because the rest of the county offices were more than welcoming and well-informed on civil libraries. Maybe if the county clerk and the deputy clerk were more available to speak with, we could shed some light on why these signs are in place. These two offices need more accountability and transparency."
