"ZERO Stars! STAY AWAY!!!! This company uses unscrupulous tactics to get you to sign a contract. I actually don't even remember signing the contract that was presented when I tried to cancel the service. The amount of money they want to cancel this contract is pure robbery. I tried to negotiate stating we had previously been in a five year contract which we completed but he said the contract automatically renews for another 5 years. Do not sign anything! it will cost you THOUSANDS of dollars. Shady company with shady business tactics."

"Dear Small business owners: Stay away from Unitex if you want to avoid dealing with fraudulent bills, threats of breach of contract, demands of thousands of dollars and legal notices. As they have been in business for over 90 years, instead of mastering the art of laundry, they have mastered the art of intimidating, threatening and shaking down their trusting customers. I am a one man business in Yonkers, NY who signed up for a small volume of linen, gowns and lab coats which would add up to no more than $200 monthly. Thus, I was shocked to see a $400 bill for the first month as it included a minimum 'weekly service charge' of $50. No weekly service was ever performed, none was ever needed and nor did anyone show up to our location and yet they didn't hesitate a second to slap on unwarranted charges. I started calling the moment I saw the invoice but it took me three months to speak to manager by when they had slapped on late charges as well. Where I had hoped that a responsible manager would understand that I was being billed for services that I did not need or receive, he instead threatened me with a breach of contract and sent me an email demanding of $7000 for damages incurred by Unitex!! Today I hired an attorney who will go after them for deceptive business practices such as entrapment of small and unsuspecting customers. But trust me, this hardship is best avoided. As a small business owner, I would rather run my business than have to defend myself from a mafia shakedown."

"Terrible quality of products, inconsistent deliveries, and even more awful customer service. I was a loyal and understanding customer for five years. In the beginning of our service contract, we consistently received damaged linens often torn, stained with blood or covered in medical tape and gauze. For several spring/summer seasons, we received linens that reeked like stink bugs, had brown stains on them, and literally had stink bugs folded into the linens. We eventually worked with an outstanding employee, Eric, and a great delivery driver, Jose. Their time with the company marks the single period during our service contract that we had minimal issues and issues that were immediately and respectfully addressed. Eric relocated to a different region and the replacement for him was helpful half the time, at best. After Jose left, our route had a number of different attendants and we dealt with plenty of issues with incorrect deliveries and errors in billing as a result. After deciding to switch to Nixon Medical (a PROFESSIONAL company that believes in customer service), we had issues with our last delivery. Unitex was informed of the change and told that all of their linens would be placed in the respective outdoor bin for pickup. They proceeded to enter the business and remove products from our new delivery company. I immediately alerted the customer service team and was told that "it was too late" and that I would not be reimbursed for the items they took that did not belong to them. "It's too late" is an entirely unacceptable answer. From a service company, I would have expected a higher level of professionalism and respect towards customers. The one thing Unitex does consistently do is display their lack of integrity proving how little they value the business of their customers. We assumed the contract from the previous business owner, were never asked for signatures, and never received any official contracts because the office "didn't have a scanner." As a business owner, I highly value good relationships with the vendors I work with. A company that services businesses should have a much higher standard of customer service. As such, I didn't submit a final payment to this unprofessional company. I was eventually contacted by a member of the accounting team to collect the final bill - which I believe should have been adjusted to accommodate for years of terrible service and the inappropriate removal of inventory. While I'm sure working in the accounting department of this company must be far from a joy, the woman I dealt with was entirely unpleasant. The pennies you save going with Unitex are not worth the headache of damaged products and complete lack of customer service."
