"Still sad I called Deer Park Fire Department they came, had no paramedic to save my husbands life. That’s their statement. Really? Not acceptable when I live in sadness every day. Paying my high taxes and when I needed help it did not come."

"I would like to say thank you to a member of the Deer Park Fire Rescue driving on Sunrise Hwy earlier today. Thank you for making your presence known and defusing and incident that could have been REALLY bad. I hope the woman driving the black mustang is feeling a lot calmer. I don't think the other driver realized what she might have started. I am glad we all made it home safely to our families. Good night all. Be blessed and be careful out there."

"This is a disgrace that they use taxpayer money, fuel, equipment and staff to sell roses hurting small Mom and pop businesses during their busiest holiday. These “volunteers” get their turn out credit (time for their tax payer pension, insurance and also a reduction in their property tax) and hock roses on the street corner. This should be illegal especially since all the money is cash....no paper trail."

"This is not located near Deer Park, WA The zip code for Deer Park, WA is not 11729. This is mislabeled and should be 1000's of miles from here."

"Always meant to tell the Deer Park Fire Department (DPFD) the effect they have on their community but never found the time or the medium to do it.. I would say about 6 years ago, I saw that the DPFP was offering a Saturday CPR course and I signed up. The course covered both CPR and the Heimlich maneuver for choking victims. About a year earlier, I saw men performing CPR on an elderly man on the NYC streets and thought to myself - if no one was around and this man collapsed, I wouldn't know what to do. About a year later, I was golfing at Smithtown Landing when at the turn, my buddy and I stopped in for some lunch. We were in a hurry to get back out to the 10th tee so my buddy scarfed down his hotdog. Only his last bite was too much to swallow and the Gatorade he thought would help the food down, backed up like a clogged drain. As he started to gargle and panic, I knew exactly what to do. Remembering that people sometimes break a rib having this maneuver done on them, I got in position, found the upper part of the stomach just under the rib cage and gave a quick easy thrust. That was all it took. Out came the Gatorade, hotdog, sauerkraut - all over the floor. He turned around, weeping, hugged me and kept repeating - you saved my life, you saved my life...We apologized to the woman working there but she was so happy a crisis was averted, she didn't mind cleaning everything up. As we walked back out to the tee box, I played it down and told him that he wasn't getting any strokes from me on the back nine. Seriously, I wanted to let the DPFD know of the effect of their service and training. At most, they helped save a life ... at least they helped me keep my cool, not over thrust and break a rib. This is a great service they offer and it makes a difference."
