"Attended New Year’s Day mass at 9am. Seemed like a very sad funeral. Priest seemed disengaged and hardly smiled or mentioned the new year. The sermon was just a matter of fact. Hardly related to the real world. It was the coldest church service I ever attended and seemingly unfriendly Father. I am trying hard to remain Catholic but it’s not helping my faith at all. Btw, lovely chapel and I attended Christmas mass here, two elderly Fathers presided. It was very warm and nice. Unfortunately, not the same for New Year’s Day, first Sunday of the year."

"My fathers funeral mass was awful! It was during the last snow storm. The priest was on his own, but he was completely not engaged. The mass was boring and impersonal. He made mistakes and had to reread. It seemed like his first time. (I was told later it wasn’t) It was sad since my dad was involved with this church for 55 years. He did have to stop going when he was bed ridden, but he did receive communion. Just very sad and I felt disrespectful to my father. He was a wonderful man, a vet and a nyc firemen."
