As a nondenominational congregation, we are part of a fellowship of independent Churches of Christ, united by our commitment to basing our beliefs and practices on the scriptures to the best of our ability and knowledge.
At Staten Island Church of Christ, we pride ourselves on being Christians only, embracing the unity of all believers as expressed in Jesus' prayer for oneness (John 17:20-21). We are a diverse and international fellowship, firmly believing that racism and Christianity are incompatible. Our congregation embodies the principle that all are one in Christ Jesus, as stated in Galatians 3:26-28.
Our faith community is built upon the love of Christ, encouraging and supporting one another in our spiritual journeys. We hold that faith in Christ is essential to a relationship with God, as emphasized in Galatians 2:20 and Hebrews 11:6. Guided by scripture, we believe that true faith leads to action and transformation, inviting all to repentance and baptism as expressions of a heart devoted to God (James 2:17, Acts 2:38).
We practice baptism by immersion, following the biblical example and understanding of baptism as a symbol of being buried with Christ into death and rising to new life (Romans 6:4). Our mission is to fulfill the will of our Father in heaven, sharing the love of Christ and the fellowship of one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all (Ephesians 4:5).
Conveniently located in the Bay Terrace neighborhood, our church is easily accessible by car, bus, and train. We offer ample parking and a wheelchair-accessible worship space. For those traveling by public transport, the S78 and S79 buses stop nearby on Hylan Blvd., and the Staten Island Railroad's Bay Terrace station is just a short walk away.
