"I don't know where to begin: in short, Herkimer Veterinary Associates are the best! Every time I've had a question or needed help with my animals- at home or at work (and there are A LOT)- the team at Herkimer Vets has been there! Anytime, any day of the week. Any season of the year! Most recently, one of my personal cats- who the cat distribution system placed at my doorstep even though I already had three cats!- had a seizure on a Sunday. I called Herkimer Vets, and within minutes, I was on the phone with a doctor, who asked me to bring him to Herkimer immediately. The vets and vet techs- no matter what time of day it is- are always quick to respond, and NEVER act like it's an inconvenience showing up after hours or for emergencies (even if it's at midnight!). My cat, Leo, is doing great now, and as he is diabetic, he visits Herkimer and West Winfield often, and they are always happy to see him and spend the day with him for his routine glucose curves. He enjoys hanging out with them all day as he knows he'll be spoiled like crazy! And the best part is, the staff follow up to ask how my animals are doing, or if they see me on a farm call or office visit, always check in and ask how all the rest of the animals are doing. I'm always so impressed they can remember so many names, fun facts and information about the hundreds of animals they come in contact with! This shows just how much they care about not only their animal clients, but their human owners as well, as they know how much we love our fur-babies. The staff always answer my questions, and offer tips and advice without forcing a plan with any of my animals. I've called with questions about chickens or guinea pigs or sheep or horses, and you name it, they're always willing to help. Whether it's taking the extra time out of an already jam packed schedule with farm calls, regularly scheduled visits and emergencies, to help me track down the number for a store an hour away for a specific supplement for sheep, or calling Cornell to help me figure out a treatment plan for a horse, or guiding me through step-by-step how to excise bumblefoot in a duck's foot, I know I can rely on them 24/7! The vets have helped me become more confident and comfortable in my knowledge and skill when it comes to caring for and working with a variety of animals, and even though they have a very demanding and stressful job, are always willing to teach and explain procedures and such to help others learn. The team is a TREMENDOUS asset to me, personally and professionally and I'd recommend them for small and large animal care to everyone!! I am so lucky to have them."

"I cannot say enough good things about this practice! Not only do they offer 24/7 care for large and small animals but they are beyond caring and compassionate to all of my animals. Who would think dogs would LOVE going to the vet?! Mine do!!!! All of the staff are so welcoming and treat all of my animals like their own. Anytime I have called with an emergency- whether during business hours or after hours- they see my pets right away. I’m always a panicked mess when one of my animals is sick and my feelings are never ignored. I have seen almost all of the vets at the practice and they’re all so wonderful!! Dr. Armstrong is so wonderful with all of my animals- large and small. She always goes above and beyond for them as if they were her own. Their prices are very reasonable. If you’re looking for a new vet I highly recommend Herkimer Veterinary Associates. My only regret is not switching my pets to them sooner!!"
