"I received a call claiming i returned a book in the book drop that was “ruined”. I paid for the book & inquired what would happen to it after i paid the fee. They refused to donate it & I was told the book would be thrown in the garbage because it was “unreadable”. I picked it up today & yes there are some marks on the edges of the book but there is not 1 page that is unreadable. Our tax dollars are paying the salary of staff who are clearly wasteful & do not recognize the value of a book in fine reading condition. Shameful!!"

"This is my favorite local library. The personnel are more than helpful and actually seem like they like what they do. The security people keep the place safe and quiet. It's comfortable and welcoming. I bring my math students here for tutoring, even though I live in Bay Shore."

"If I could give this a 0 star I would! The Hispanic lady in the front desk is just plain rude! My boyfriend has always taken out books at this library for as long as he can remember. He sometimes misplaces his card but only a few of the nice librarians look him up and see that he is enrolled! Not today! This lady gave him a huge attitude over his card and when he asked for a new one she says nope... can’t give you a new one. The machine is broken... I’m sorry but last time I checked we all pay for the library through our taxes.. the library is to help benefit the community but this lady who gave us a rude attitude didn’t want us to have access to study guides. Are you serious? Horrible service and because of people like her... people won’t be going to libraries anymore and she’ll just lose her job!"
