About the Business

Cleary School for the Deaf

Welcome to Cleary School for the Deaf, a distinguished private institution located at 301 Smithtown Boulevard, Nesconset, New York. Since 1925, we have been proudly serving the Deaf community of Long Island, providing a rich educational experience for our students. As a state-supported member of the @4201Schools, we are committed to fostering a nurturing environment that celebrates diversity, creativity, and academic excellence.

At Cleary School for the Deaf, our students are encouraged to explore their passions and talents. We are thrilled to celebrate Carmen Ortega-Osorio, a promising photographer who received an honorable mention in the Huntington Camera Club's Annual High School Competition. Our students excel in various fields, from the arts to culinary creativity, as demonstrated by Julia and Marleny’s victory in the "Best Display" category of their Food Prep Class' Cupcake Wars.

Music and cooperation are integral parts of our curriculum. Camilo Mejia-Garcia, the sole saxophonist in our program, showcases the joy of music, while Joseph Cacciato, a student in Ms. Smith's class, earned the Cooperation Champion award for his exemplary character.

Our commitment to fostering a vibrant learning environment extends to exciting new technologies and experiences. Our fifth graders are embarking on a virtual reality adventure through the Solar System and the Ocean, thanks to the BOCES Model Schools Program. Meanwhile, our CES second graders recently enjoyed a Field Day Extravaganza filled with fun and learning.

Cleary School for the Deaf is proud to celebrate the achievements of our students and graduates. This year, we honored our eight graduates with a special luncheon, marking the beginning of their next journey. We invite you to join our supportive and dynamic community. For more information, please visit the Cleary Foundation Website, the 4201 Schools Association of NY State Website, or the East Islip School District Website. For inquiries, contact us at (631) 588-0016 or our various direct lines.
