About the Business

Icahn Stadium

Welcome to Icahn Stadium, a premier sports facility located at 10 Central Road on the scenic Randall’s Island in Manhattan, New York. As a state-of-the-art stadium, Icahn Stadium meets the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) specifications and is designed to host local, national, and international track and field events, including Olympic training and trials.

Nestled between Manhattan, the Bronx, and Queens, our stadium offers a breathtaking view of the East River and the iconic Manhattan skyline. Opened on April 23, 2005, on the historic site of the former Downing Stadium, Icahn Stadium features a 400-meter Mondo surface running track and covered spectator seating, providing an exceptional experience for athletes and fans alike. Additionally, the facility includes a synthetic soccer field equipped with a scoreboard, fencing, lighting, and bleachers for spectator enjoyment.

Icahn Stadium is the signature facility of the Randall’s Island Park Alliance (RIPA), in partnership with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, dedicated to fostering community engagement and environmental stewardship. The Alliance is proud to offer an interactive and educational environment for educators and kids of all ages, with a variety of events and programs throughout the year. From health and wellness programs to volunteering opportunities, there are numerous ways to explore and support Randall’s Island.

Our calendar of events is packed with exciting activities, including Community Track Nights where the public can enjoy running on our world-class track. We are also thrilled to announce a $3 million investment into a new professional grass soccer pitch, set to debut in summer 2024. This Kentucky Bluegrass field will enhance our 5,000-seat stadium, making it a prime location for soccer and other field sports.

Icahn Stadium is also home to the Jesse Owens Track & Field Program, an inspiring instructional program for young people ages 8-14. Offered in partnership with the City Parks Foundation, this free program introduces participants to various aspects of track and field, fostering a love for the sport.

With approximately eight miles of bicycle and pedestrian pathways, Randall’s Island Park is an urban oasis perfect for walking, running, and biking. Whether you're visiting for an event or looking to volunteer, there are countless ways to engage with and support our vibrant community. Visit our website for more information on volunteering opportunities, event schedules, and how you can make a difference. We look forward to welcoming you to Icahn Stadium and helping you make the most of your time on Randall’s Island!

"Watched the NY Grand Prix race here and got to see some Olympians run. Great venue, easy to get to and the seats were great for spectators."

"On June 9th, we had the pleasure of attending an event at your establishment. The track meet was a delightful experience, and the overall ambiance of the venue was quite impressive. The cleanliness of the restrooms was commendable. However, we encountered an issue with the food service. Specifically, the cheeseburger I ordered was undercooked, with a noticeable pink color."

"Great stadium for high school track meets. Plenty of seating. The lines for food can be very long."

"Where dreams are made. Some of the best moments of my life were here. I love this place for track meets. Beautiful facilities and world class track. Unforgettable experience. Sometimes there are vendors also. The audio is impressive as well its as if you're in the Olympics or gonna fight Drago in rocky IVwhen they put the soundtrack on. My one bit of feedback is the bathrooms are usually filthy. And athletes deserve a good go before competing. So does everyone. Otherwise love this place. Free parking too."
