Reviews
"Housing Works Bookstore is truly a treasure trove in the heart of NYC. This cozy, charming bookstore offers an incredible selection of both new and used books, a warm atmosphere, and a mission that resonates deeply. It's the perfect place to get lost in a good book, sip on some coffee, or even catch one of their many events. What makes this spot even more magical is its connection to none other than Taylor Swift. A known lover of bookstores and an advocate for literacy, Taylor has frequented Housing Works and even supported the organization through her philanthropic efforts. Knowing that one of my favorite artists shares a love for this place adds an extra layer of joy every time I visit. Whether you're a Swiftie or just a book lover, Housing Works Bookstore is a must-visit. Not only will you find fantastic reads, but you'll also be contributing to a cause that makes a real difference. Can't recommend it enough!"
"Just off the hyper energetic throng of commuters, shoppers and tourists lies this blissfully quiet and cool space of tranquility. Books galore, plus CDs, vinyl and a lovely little coffee shop, so you can sit down whilst browsing the joys held within. Been going there for years and still love it!"
"This is a beautiful place where you can have a unique experience. A place where you can buy not only books, but also small household items, clothes, CDs, and LP records. How wonderful it is to be able to read a book while drinking coffee and beer! However, it is doubtful whether the book you are looking for will be available. The opening time is also late at 11am. It's a nice place, but as someone looking for books, I'm satisfied with this as a one-time opportunity."
"Nestled in tranquility, Housing works bookstore invites you to savor a book over a steaming cup of coffee. The impeccable service, though unobtrusive, adds to the charm. While the book collection isn’t extensive, it remains a delightful haven for leisurely moments."
