Welcome to Soundview Library, your vibrant community hub located at 660 Soundview Avenue, The Bronx, New York 10473. Our bright, airy, one-story marble building not only houses an extensive collection of adult, young adult, and children's books, but also features a small Spanish-language collection and a diverse non-print collection, including videos, CDs, CD-ROMs, language tapes, and books on tape, all available for borrowing.
We’re excited to announce the expansion of our Teen Center, where you can explore digital resources, tech equipment, and art materials. The Teens 360º program, generously supported by the City of New York, provides a dynamic space for young adults to learn and grow.
For those seeking personalized reading recommendations, try Shelf Help, NYPL’s new service tailored to your interests. Simply share your reading preferences, and our librarians will select five books just for you, ready for pickup at your local branch.
Join us for a wide range of online and in-person classes, programs, and book clubs, designed to engage and inspire people of all ages. Our meeting room is also available for community groups, fostering connection and collaboration.
Please note our new policy: e-bikes, e-scooters, and electronic transportation devices are not permitted inside any NYPL location, though mobility aids are always welcome.

"I’ve been coming to this branch since I was a child, and now I have the pleasure of bringing my daughter to one of my favorite places! I love the staff, they are so friendly and helpful, the library is always clean & there are plenty of books, resources, free tutoring & activities for everyone. They are currently giving away free books which they update often, and I have found some really great read so for myself and my daughter. My daughter is in second grade and got her first chapter book from the library’s free collection. She’s really has an interest in reading and is reading at a fourth grade level. I am grateful for this gem in Soundview. It’s important to keep our libraries open for the youth."
"I was really impressed with this library. It’s not super big but is bright and clean inside. This branch boasts a computer lab and a nice kids section with plenty of children’s books, seating and activities (including some STEM toys). My toddler really enjoys coming here."
