About the Business

Azarian McCullough Art Gallery

Welcome to the Azarian McCullough Art Gallery (AMAG), a vibrant hub of artistic expression nestled at the base of Costello Tower on the beautiful campus of St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, New York. Since its establishment in 2000, thanks to the generous support of the Azarian-McCullough family, AMAG has been a beacon of creativity and cultural exchange, hosting over 70 diverse exhibits that span a multitude of artistic media and themes.

Each academic year, our gallery proudly presents seven curated exhibits, each accompanied by an engaging artist’s reception and an insightful gallery talk, where visitors can delve deeper into the artistic process and themes. Enjoy complimentary refreshments as you explore the art, with free admission always guaranteed to all members of the public.

Our exhibits have showcased a fascinating array of themes, from the exploration of environmental issues and urban landscapes to the abstract realms of surrealism and luminescent painting. We celebrate the rich tapestry of global cultures, with past exhibitions featuring influences from Cambodia, Russia, China, Korea, Africa, and Native America. The media on display is as varied as the themes, including painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, fabric, electronics, and multimedia installations.

Art has the profound ability to delight, inform, and instruct. It stimulates our senses, enriches our intellectual and spiritual lives, and offers reflections on our shared humanity. The Azarian McCullough Art Gallery is committed to presenting art that resonates with the public and encourages thoughtful dialogue.

Planning a visit? Our gallery is open Monday through Thursday with varying hours to accommodate your schedule. Artists interested in exhibiting at AMAG can apply each year, with applications accepted from artists in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, and CT) without any fees. The selection process is conducted by the college’s Exhibition Committee every April for the following academic year.

Don’t miss our upcoming exhibits, including "14 Sculptors: Anomaly," a tribute to the late Dan Bergman, and "Olivia Hunter: Fragmented Fables," a poignant exploration of photography and psychology. We invite you to join us in celebrating the power and diversity of art at AMAG. Secure your spot for Fall 2024 by submitting your deposit today and become part of our thriving artistic community.
