"Pretty strenuous uphill but it's worth it for the views of the reservoir by the power lines and the flat mountain "resting area" at the top"
"It's a nice hiking trail - only about 3 miles long. It is however very steep and there are lots of rocks so watch your step! Lake Ricorda is just at the entrance. It was lovely in an autumn day!"
"Beautiful experience. The only complaint addresses the high power lines..."
"Don't go here. No parking and sign says trail closed. When you do continue the hike it is a mountain of rocks."
"For new jersey, this is a fun, fairly strenuous hike. However, the vibe is a little off around the monksville reservoir due to power lines, old stripped/rusting cars, many atvs, and one very sketchy home with several packs of caged dogs in the backyard (welcome to one of northern nj's many interesting hidden gems). The wanaque ends of the trail are fun though."
