Founded by Barbara Hust, Hope Ministries was born out of personal tragedy and a divine calling to support individuals struggling with issues such as clinical depression, addiction, and grief through Christian counseling.
Our ministry has grown to include a team of dedicated Christian counselors who provide compassionate care and guidance. We offer a variety of services, including prison ministry, women's addiction rehabilitation counseling, and grief counseling. Additionally, our mission extends beyond local borders, reaching at-risk children in Africa.
Our journey in Zambia began with a simple act of kindness—helping Pastor Sam and Kasamba Sikapizye with driving lessons. This led to the discovery of the urgent need to support orphans affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Inspired by God's call, Barbara purchased a small house in Ndola, Zambia, providing a loving home for fifteen orphans.
In 2007, our mission expanded with the acquisition of a ten-acre parcel in Twapia, Zambia. With faith and community support, an orphanage, school, clinic, and worship center were established. These facilities have become a sanctuary for children like Kachabula Milambo, who, after completing his education at Hope Fellowship Community School, went on to graduate as an electrician.
Thanks to generous donations, Hope Ministries Zambia continues to provide essentials, such as school uniforms crafted by local seamstresses, ensuring that every child at Hope Fellowship Community School has clothing and a sense of belonging.
