"Playful Yogi is THE place to practice yoga in Nyack. I have practiced yoga In different cities around the world and I still prefer PYS above all others. It is a beautiful, heart-warming and welcoming space that makes you feel like you're "home." There's a class for everyone ... gentle, yin, aerial, hot and incredible vinyasa classes (plus others) ... there's something for everyone and for any mood you're in. I highly recommend PYS for anyone to practice yoga and for teacher training - it's worth the trip to ensure you get an incredible journey that is transformational and prepares you to teach. "Playful Yogi yoga studio is my home away from home, my safe space in a crazy world of turmoil and stress. I go to the classes I love, taught by teachers I love, that give me encouragement to practice and grow and deepen my yoga practice, offering options for each student at their own level. I love the creative flows, themed classes and building into a peek pose, while going beyond the physical asana, the many other aspects of yoga like Breathwork, meditation and philosophy for living yoga on and off the mat. And the sense of humor! I love that I can come early and meditate before class. I have made wonderful friends there in an ever increasing isolating world. And it feels safe for all - no politics. From beginner to advanced classes, different styles (vinyasa, yin, restorative, aerial, hot yoga, the list goes on), all taught by incredibly knowledgeable and approachable teachers. If you are looking for a studio to call home, the space has a strong community vibe, very welcoming and open. I recently completed their 200-hour yoga teacher training series and highly recommend that as well!"

Not only do they have so many different classes and styles that meet everyone’s needs (and they just opened a second studio for hot yoga!), but also it is such a great community. I really feel that it welcomes everyone, all ages, genders, colors and backgrounds, and keeps an atmosphere where you are encouraged to listen to your own needs and not feel like you have to push and keep up with.
