Michael Griffith, a seasoned international criminal defense lawyer, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to every case. With a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from John Marshall Law School, he is admitted to practice in both State and Federal Courts in New York, among other jurisdictions. For over two decades, Mr. Griffith has been an influential member and officer of the Criminal Law Committee of the International Bar Association.

As a founding member of the International Legal Defense Counsel, Mr. Griffith has dedicated his career to representing Americans arrested abroad. His extensive experience includes counseling clients in prisons across more than 25 countries. With a robust network of international criminal lawyers, he coordinates comprehensive defense strategies to ensure the best possible outcomes for his clients. In cases of conviction, he also assists with the transfer of prisoners back to the United States.

Mr. Griffith's expertise is recognized at the highest levels, having testified before the United States Senate and the House Foreign Relations Committee on issues related to prisoner transfer treaties and the treatment of American prisoners overseas. He has represented the International Bar Association at the United Nations Conference on “Crime Prevention and the Treatment of Offenders” in Cairo, Egypt, and has lectured extensively on the legal challenges faced by Americans traveling abroad.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Griffith is a respected commentator, frequently appearing on networks such as CNN, Court TV, and Nancy Grace to provide insights into international criminal defense matters.

Notably, Mr. Griffith represented Ted Maher, the American nurse accused of arson leading to the death of billionaire banker Edmond Safra, during his trial in Monaco, showcasing his prowess in handling high-profile international cases.
