"Knitty Gritty Yarns Doreen and Melissa I was recently at a big box store marveling at the lack of yarn on the shelves with another yarn fanatic . She kindly told me all about Knitty Gritty Yarns on Old Liverpool Rd. New to the Liverpool area, having come from W Fayette Street in Syracuse, this shop has a bright and airy store front. Beautiful wool, alpaca, and all manner of blends. What I loved most…Colors, colors, colors and more COLORS! At a time when it’s hard to find yarn options at any of the big box stores, I was pleasantly surprised to see the variety and quantity. I also loved the different weights available. Would love to see some more light weight (DK) cotton options. I had a few minutes to speak with Doreen, I believe she is the manager, and Melissa, one of the knitting class instructors. They were very welcoming and knowledgeable. Stop by to see their yarns and all the accessories that we fiber arts craftsman need to create our works of art! And Yes, they have knitting and crochet classes. Knitty Gritty Yarns is all about providing selection and service to local yarn enthusiasts."

"Knitty Gritty Yarns is like a wonderland for creators. As I walked through the store, I felt not like I was shopping, but like I was exploring. Knitty Gritty hits the mark in that it is well organized and shoppable, yet also bursting with so many wonderful yarns (and more) that I needed a couple circuits around the store to take it all in. The store features a plethora of locally dyed yarns in a wide variety of stunning colors, materials, and price points, and also has sample work displayed for many yarns which helped me get a sense of what my finished projects might look and feel like (plus, when you buy the yarn that a sample is made with, you get that pattern for free). They also offer classes for all skill levels and a weekly social group. Knitty Gritty Yarns is an absolute treasure, and I can’t wait to go back!"

There is a crazy good selection of great yarns and tools on offer, and they free winding for your purchases. Forget the big craft stores. This place rocks."
