At Herkimer County HealthNet, we are passionate about advocating for systemic changes to reduce health disparities. Our goal is to eliminate childhood lead poisoning in Herkimer and Oneida Counties by 2030. Through our IMPACT initiatives, we focus on preventing and controlling obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke throughout the Central New York (CNY) region.
We offer a variety of classes designed to tackle critical health issues, supporting individuals with chronic conditions such as diabetes, breathing problems, depression, anxiety, heart conditions, and arthritis. Our programs include lifestyle change initiatives for those with prediabetes, equipping them with the skills needed to reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes and enhance their overall health.
In collaboration with the American Cancer Society, we provide essential information, skills for coping with cravings, and group support to those in need. Collaboration is at the core of our work; by partnering with other nonprofits, government entities, businesses, and community groups, we effectively address a wide range of issues affecting our community members.
