Our foundation proudly supports various funds, including the Sock Out Cancer Fund, the Geller Oncology Fund, and Hospice, among others. We are thrilled to share our recent $100,000 grant to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, presented by our President, Mr. Robert L. O'Connell, to Executive Director Linda Cerra. This grant will aid in the expansion of Mercy House, adding six new resident rooms with private bathrooms. Guthrie Hospice Vestal will continue to provide exclusive hospice services to residents, ensuring compassionate care for those in need.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have recently funded the purchase of 16 fetal heart monitors and their carts, enhancing the comfort and safety of mothers and babies at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital. Additionally, we have acquired a van to facilitate patient transport and support outreach efforts to our rural outpatient sites, addressing the growing needs of these communities where public transportation is often unavailable.
The Lourdes Hospital Foundation is deeply grateful for the support of individuals who have contributed to our cause. "Great hospital great staff can't complain about anything they get you in and get you out on time with everything. They are very resourceful and very helping when you need them. Just don't go to the emergency room at night thinking no one's going to be there because they be packed. I recommend in my opinion if you go to the emergency room go between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m."
