"This consulate is a waste of Haitian tax payer money. They never answer their calls. The mailbox is always full. I’m asking myself what’s the point. I spend all day calling and nothing. Heard people have gone there and they don’t seem to care about anyone’s concern. Corruption to the max… only in Haiti. That country is a hot mess…. Smh everything is a waste of time and money…"

"Don’t go there ! Especially if you have an urgent need for a passport. Employees are extremely unprofessional, make promises they absolutely cannot keep nor care to keep and Have ZERO sense of urgency. I paid EXPRESS service to renew my passport . After a month in process, I would call to check in on the status of passport from time to time . They always very nonchalant and acted clueless about any update which was extremely frustrating. I finally decided to withdraw my application and travel to Washington DC to finally get my passport. I got my passport the same day. If you really need to get your passport in a timely manner I would recommend Washington DC same day passport application. It's a trip but it's worth it because you will not get anywhere with these incompetent people. Going to this place is truly a waste of time, money and energy."

"I have never felt so compelled to leave a review but the service I’ve received here has been so bad that I need to forewarn others and publicly chastise this institution that is meant to serve us Haitian. I’m Haitian born college student with a permanent residency in America. As I am doing a study abroad program in the fall, I got my passport done here on January 17th and paid $165 to receive the passport at the earliest date possible, which according to the consulate is up to 3 months. It’s almost 4 months now, and I have not received a passport and I’m at risk of losing my study abroad acceptance. Sometimes I call 6-8 times a day and no one picks us. A receptionist picked two weeks ago and told me that there’s nothing the consulate can do regarding my passport?! When you take the money and provide receipt of service to someone, you enter in a legal contract to provide them the service in America. The way you guys operate is not only hurting the Haitian people, but it is unlawful! (Note: I gave one start because Google does not let you leave 0 stars)"

"I have been trying to obtain a passport for about eight months. As an American-born Haitian seeking a second passport, I find the service at this office extremely unprofessional. No one returns your calls, and apparently, no one there speaks English. This New York office is a joke and a poor representation of Haiti."
