Located at 42822 Saint Lawrence Avenue in the enchanting Thousand Island Park, New York, the Thousand Island Park Foundation is a dedicated community organization committed to preserving and enhancing the rich history and vibrant culture of our unique locale. Established as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charitable entity in June 2013, and reformed with renewed bylaws in 2016, the Foundation operates independently yet in close coordination with the Thousand Island Park Corporation.

Our mission is to foster a philanthropic environment that supports educational, cultural, religious, and recreational activities within the historical district of Thousand Island Park. We strive to preserve the park's storied history, heritage, and historic buildings, enhancing the experience for every resident, guest, and visitor. With over a century of tradition influenced by the Chautauqua movement, Thousand Island Park is a beacon of intellectual, artistic, and recreational engagement, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the St. Lawrence River and the Thousand Islands.

Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the Foundation is committed to transparency and accountability, reporting to the community, the IRS, and the NYS Attorney General's Charities Bureau. We actively seek community input through surveys and informal conversations, ensuring that our efforts align with the vision and needs of our residents.

The Foundation plays a pivotal role in the community by distributing funds in the form of mini-grants to various park entities, including the Landmark Society, Library, Tabernacle, Yacht Club, Historical Association and Museum, and Rock Ridges. These grants, funded in part by donations from the Thousand Island Park Corporation, support a wide array of not-for-profit organizations, furthering our mission to sustain the historic Thousand Island Park community.
