"Secluded old St Johnland cemetery.. there's an old deep well with a manhole cover worth checking out, near the entrance just past the chain link fence off of the sunken meadow trail"

"It’s a shame that this cemetery was abandoned. At one time these people walked and lived in the area and should be remembered."

"Easiest way to access the cemetery is through the Nissequogue River State Park and Sunken Meadow State Park connection trails on the Kings Park Bluff side. Park in the boat trailer parking area to south of the Kings Park Bluff. Take the southern most hiking trail that follows the border of the nursing home. If you see the giant boulder on your right a little ways in, you are on the right path. Take that about a .25 - .5 mile and you’ll see headstones on the to the right-hand side behind the fence after you pass the nursing home building. There will be an opening in the fence right in front of the stones. We tried to get there from Sunken Meadow, but those trails were way too steep for me."

"I found something like an old pump given the cast iron case with 2 sets of bearing races. The 3 steel shafts sticking up in the air are what's left of the lack of better term connecting rod for the piston the 2 outside rods should have been connected to the flywheel."
