Begin your adventure at the Lower Dyke Road parking lot, where our stone-dust trail meanders north alongside the tranquil Chittenango Creek. As you stroll, enjoy the unique experience of walking on a boardwalk that leads to a circle with three enticing trail options. Choose any path to explore, and you'll find yourself at the Upper Dyke parking lot, eventually reaching Dyke Rd at 0.5 miles.

Continue your journey along the wide shoulder of Dyke Rd, turning right onto Brinkerhoff Hill Rd, and navigate through crosswalks over Madison St and Genesee St. As you head north on the west side of the street, you'll cross the river and discover a parking lot directly across from the Sullivan Free Library. Here, at 0.8 miles, you can rejoin the stone-dust trail, find a map board, and relax in the picnic area.

The trail continues north alongside the creek, passing a charming promenade with stunning views, before veering right onto a paved path through the Grand at Chittenango Senior Citizen Center, finally emerging onto Russell Street at 1.1 miles.

Chittenango Creek Walk is more than just a trail. It hosts a weekly farmers market and numerous community events on Genesee Street, in front of the Presbyterian Church and adjacent to the Fire Station. Our park network also includes Kirschenheiter Park, nestled between South Webber Drive and Hawthorne Way, and Rotary Park located on Lakeport Rd near the Canal Museum.

For thrill-seekers, our Skate Board Park, located across from the Chittenango Free Library on Genesee Street, offers a safe environment for skateboarding, biking, and scootering. The park is open from dawn to dusk, and all participants must adhere to safety rules and wear appropriate equipment. Please note, the Skate Board Park is regularly patrolled by the Chittenango Police Department for your safety.

Enjoy a peaceful day at our passive walking park, complete with a picnic area and a small swing set for the kids. Convenient links from Forbes Ave. and South Webber Drive neighborhoods provide easy access to Sullivan Park, making Chittenango Creek Walk a perfect destination for family outings and leisurely strolls.

"Took the dog for a short walk down along the creek. Nice scenery and plenty of shade. There are a couple entry points if you want to wade in the water along the way."

"This is a very nice quiet place that has not too crowded and hasn't been discovered by everyone yet so be sure to take care it's a long side Chittenango Creek where you can fish according to New York state regulations but does not yield that many fish"
