ACE Rent A Car

"Let me just start off by saying how wonderful Sam and Diyor are! I had such a long, tiring day traveling, and these two were able to not only deliver outstanding customer service, but made my reservation, which was booked very last minute and prices were sky high, more affordable for me - all the while extending the time that I would have the rental for! This was especially important because lo and behold, my original flight home was cancelled yesterday and it turns out that I needed the rental car for at least an extra day or two! It’s almost like they had a crystal ball and knew that there was a possibility of my flight being canceled. They were truly looking out for my best interests and I appreciate that more than they know. Thank you Ace - five stars all around!!"

"Do not follow the sky train for rental car lot, you have to go to P4 and then take the ACE shuttle , it did take awhile so be prepared for that. The service at the facility was excellent and all staff were efficient and polite. Moderately fast in getting our car. Just main thing is it’s not with the other rental car agencies."

"Drivo, 408 Carnegie Ave, Newark NJ: Overall, everything was fine. The staff is very pleasant, courteous, and polite! The car was clean. Everything was good. However, with ACE, you need to plan for an additional ±40 minutes. It takes longer to get there because of the shuttle, and there are few registration desks. But the most important thing is that they are NOT 24/7 - their operating hours are 6:00 am - 11:30 pm, which is essential to keep in mind. Otherwise, everything is okay. The price is slightly lower than other options around."

"What a mess!!!!!!!, I rented a car from this company first time in New York. I usually rent in Florida where it’s never a problem. I don’t even know where to start with this location. First off, not one person knows what they are talking about when you call for information. I drove from New York to Florida this recent weekend. I got told multiple different things from different workers on the phone starting with “you’re not aloud to take the car out of state” to “you can’t purchase insurance with us” which were both not true… second, we got charged $360 extra to be able to take the car out of state to Florida. NO WHERE DOES IT SHOW YOU ARENT ALOUD TO TAKE THE CAR TO FLORIDA NOR DOES IT SHOW IT WILL BE $300 extra !!!!!! Because we already had the trip set in stone we had to pay the money, or I would have happily canceled the reservation and booked with another rental company!!! Third, the Bluetooth connection didn’t work the first 2 days of having the car. Imagine driving 18 hours with no music. We got a Chevy which was a beautiful car but wasn’t working properly. On top of that, they gave us a car that one tire had a hole in which made us have to put air into the tire 4x during a 18 hr drive, and 1x everyday in the morning after that. I find it disgusting to charge the amount they did with a car that wasn’t even up to standard with maintenance. I would NEVERRR rent a car from this place ever again in my life and will be sure to to tell everyone I know never to rent a car from ACE. I want to mention last, we had a great Sale representative. He really tried to help in anyway he could have so I appreciate that."

"We rented a car through ACE for our first family vacation and I will start this post by saying they have fixed their mistake but I want to write about our experience so anyone else looking to book a car is prepared. The gentleman I worked with to pick up the car was very rude to me. While going through the paperwork to get the car, I had a question about one of the pages I needed to sign. Instead of answering my question, the man was extremely rude and sarcastic with me, which I called him out for immediately. Once we finished the paperwork, they told us to wait for our car. The vehicle they pulled up was in shambles. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. It was filthy on the inside and outside. We had been traveling for 14 hours with a toddler and by the time we arrived at the car rental location, he was ready to be done for the day. We still had a 2 hour drive ahead of us in the dark in a new place. After I went in and complained about the state of the car, the manager came out and offered to give us an upgrade which we denied because we wanted to just leave and get our little one to bed. As soon as we hit the highway, the car was vibrating, making a loud clicking noise and just didn’t run like a car should. At that point, we had no other option than to continue on with our trip. Luckily, we made it to our destinations (not without lots of stress worrying the car wouldn’t make it). I have rented cars multiple Times and have never had a car this “crappy”. Upon drop off, I was informed that this car was a mistake and should not have been given to us, which I knew just by looking at it. The manager DID fix our issue but it doesn’t take away from the fact that our first family vacation was botched because of this rental car situation. I would advise you to check the car they give you thoroughly and speak up if there’s an issue. All in all, I’m severely disappointed in ACE and will never rent a car though them again. However, the manager did rectify the situation (at the end of our trip) so I do have to give him credit."
