"Edit: in response to the reply to my review: the manager was clearly trying hard to get the situation under control. I see reviews that this happens every weekend — that indicates it’s a systemic problem that Herz knows and does not care about. Don’t throw your local managers under the bus — take responsibility at a corporate level and fix the problem. You guys responded to my review within 15 minutes. Put that damage control $$$$ into fixing the problem with the fleet…… my original review stands. Original: It’s incredible how specifically bad this place is. I am 2.5 hours into waiting for a car which was prepaid, pre booked, etc. They said there would be a 2.5 hour wait. No one has called to say our reservation is ready to be honored. And looking through, I can see that they were repeating this and going through the exact same poor behavior and weak excuses every weekend for months back. It’s incredible."

"Be ware of Hertz in NYC. No standardization, no service, no cars available on weekends even if u booked in advanced and paid. we had the worst service ever: waited 4! hours to get a car with babies and wedding we had to miss. The manager couldn’t give us answers or solutions although we booked in advanced, when a car will be available. When wanted to add my spouse as a co driver although they saw us both and had both licenses they insisted to bring us both in once again ( and leave small children in the car). Around 20 people stood and waited for 3.5-4 hours to get their cars. Do yourself a favor- just don’t."

"As a Hertz Five Star member having rented many times with Hertz (and also Avis and Enterprise), I can say that this is the worst experience I’ve ever had. 1. The online check-in didn’t work and it wasted me about half an hour for check-in. 2. They didn’t have the car that I reserved. I booked a Class B gas car but received a Class C4 electric car, which was very inconvenient as I was on a long trip. In fact, I had to cancel my visit to one location and postpone another one due to the limited range (meaning a lot of time wasted for charging - I even had to wait in line for a “super fast” charger - which could be avoided by having a gas car). Also there is no charging station near the place that I slept, so it was impossible for me to charge the car by myself before returning the car. 3. The check-out process was also the worst. I was asked to wait in the check-in queue to check out as they could not send anyone to the car to read the mileages. They claimed that all the city locations were like this, which is incorrect. I have returned the car in local branches many times in NYC and also other cities and there had always been someone coming to my car to serve me."

"My experience is not with the rental process I have never rented from the location and don’t plan too. My experience is walking down the street to this establishment. The inconvenience of having cars pull up for you by employees quickly turned into a nightmare of unsafe practices and unresponsive customer service. Employees smile or laugh when pulling up quickly as if it’s a game they are playing scaring my son and when walking down the street. They pulled up hastily, sometimes speeding on busy sidewalks, which is not only irresponsible but also dangerous. This behavior is completely unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company's standards. Nobody honks there is no light or indication that cars are coming. To compound the issue, when attempting to contact the local office to report these incidents, my calls went unanswered repeatedly. It's incredibly frustrating when you're trying to address a serious safety concern and no one from the company seems willing to respond or take responsibility. After multiple failed attempts to reach the office, I even tried to escalate the matter to the manager, but again, no response. This lack of communication and disregard for customer concerns is deeply concerning. To the manager of this business shame on you for not addressing this issues. I have included a picture at 8:14 in the morning today a car was pulling up so fast scaring my son and I the driver clearly seen our reaction and thought it was funny."

"BEWARE: do not use this location!!! Car is not ready AGAIN. This happened before, we gave you another chance and we were told hopefully an hour to an hour and a half wait after our scheduled reservation. Will never use Hertz again after this insanity. They never have any cars! Was told that this is the norm and so I guess you should never expect them to actually have a car for you. Also both times that this has happened, there isn’t even an apology or a discount for the hours missed. Rude and clearly can’t run their business of renting cars properly. And tried to call, but I’ve been on hold for 20 minutes."
