Gino's Trattoria

"Food was so miserably bad. We came this past weekend for an early dinner, in fact we were one of only 2 tables in the restaurant at that time. The waitstaff was all very nice and mostly competent (The got our shared appetizer wrong). All were friendly, clean and pleasant. We even had the owner stop by to greet us. All good things, but when dinner arrived, the entire experience went so far downhill so fast. The food is really just bad. Italian food is about the easiest food to make well, but these guys totally missed the mark. Some of it was unseasoned, and the tomato sauce was bloody awful. The entire presentation of my dinner looked like something your kids would complain about being served at their college cafeteria. The tomato sauce was thin and orange. It was unpleasantly sweet and had no developed flavors other than the off-putting flavor of its odd sugary base. Its really too bad because I wanted to like this place since its just walking distance from home, but I could have gotten a better version of the same exact dinner a couple of miles down the road at the Greek dinner."

"Decided to give this new place a try. Very glad we did. My man & I really enjoyed the menu, unique food offerings & cocktail list. Food was really great, tried a few things that were new to me. We had the place to ourselves which was a shock considering how great the food and service were. I don’t think this will stay so quiet as they increase their following. They have only been open a few months. Get there now before the crowds. Also, the owner & his entire staff were perfection."

"New place that took over Sal’s. I met the owner a very nice gentleman.. A stocked bar and roomy restaurant with lots of different to choose from. We came as a group for lunch and did not leave disappointed. The Thai calamari was excellent. I wish this owner nothing but the best"

"First let me say that this was a communion party for my daughter's and we booked the party in January when it was still Sal's. However come 2 days before the party, I stopped by the restaurant to look at the room and see how the tables would be set up. Imagine my surprise when the manager told me I was not in the book for 3:15pm, the agreed upon time to start the party. He looked even more stunned to see his signature on the receipt for the deposit I left. Bottom line, a party was booked before me which would not be ending until 4pm. I was told my guests could sit at the bar or in some of the booths and once the other party left the second long table would be set and all of my guests would be seated. That was not the case and the manager was arguing with me in front of my guests. This was not a Saturday night out, I wanted my guests to sit, eat and mingle. He finally gave me the other long table, which was already setup from the previous party, just a change of linens was needed, no extra work. After all of the initial aggravation, the party was very nice. The servers were outstanding and worked very hard and very well together. Unfortunately, we will not be using Gino's in the future."
