"STAY AWAY Ordered at 6:40. Still waiting at 7:20pm. People came in after us and got their food first. We had somewhere to be. Would never come back to this location. Chicken was advertised as tenders and it came on a bone. Was ordering for my kid so I didn’t like that. Plus fish was fishy. VERY FISHY. My child vomited the next day."

"I ordered a 6 piece catfish nugget and 4 wings. The total was almost $14. Kinda expensive, but so is everything else nowadays. It was tasty! Seasoning on point. Fried to my liking. My only complaint is that I waited half an hour for my food! Yes, it was busy, but this is not a large order. If I go back, I will order ahead."

"I ordered fried flounder I received fried Talipha which I dont eat. Over fried and under seasoned....next I ordered jumbo scallops they called and said they are out and do I want shrimp I say yes ok.....the shrimp was so hard and over cooked we could not eat them at all.....next it was the sides.... potato salad was so old it taste like the old fridge smell...the Mac and cheese was so old it had no creamy milk or creamy cheese taste to it ....the candid yams were GREAT! the fried wings was cooked in old used grease but it was seasoned so well .....overall .......*********I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN************"

"Just went here for the first time while in Newark to buy something unrelated. Decided to Google “Fried Fish”. Went here and ordered fish, scallops, shrimp, collard greens, hot wings, and carrot cake. We just finished everything and enjoyed it all. Nothing was over fried or tough. Everything tasted fresh. I really loved the greens. We don’t get to buy good soul food where we live. This will be our regular spot."

"The other day I ordered, Roy’s Fish Fry, for lunch. I ordered their 2pc Whiting w/ String Beans and a side of Mac n Cheese. The lady who took my order was really nice, and she also threw in another piece of fish. The fish was ok in flavor, they were just really small in size. I was extremely disappointed in the string beans due to them being really salty. Could barely finish them. The Mac n Cheese greatly impacts my total score. Not that it was the best Mac or anything, just that it actually had pretty good flavor and texture. The cheeses maybe could’ve been blended a little better, but I enjoyed the Mac n Cheese. All in all, I don’t think I’d try this place again. But if you’re in the Newark area, and looking for some quick seafood, try out, Roy’s Fish Fry."
