The Veterans Breakfast Club (VBC) stands as the nation’s premier non-profit dedicated to bridging the gap between veterans and their fellow Americans through the power of storytelling. Located in Pittsburgh, PA, VBC's mission is to connect, heal, educate, and inspire communities by sharing the rich and diverse experiences of military service members.

Our Mission:

At VBC, we believe that every day should be Veterans Day. Our goal is to foster a nation that understands and values the sacrifices and experiences of our military veterans. We achieve this by bringing together individuals from all walks of life, ages, and branches of service, both in-person and online, to share their stories. Our slogan, “Every Veteran Has a Story,” underscores our commitment to listening and learning from the personal narratives of those who have served.

What We Do:

For the past 15 years, VBC has been dedicated to listening. Since our first small event outside Pittsburgh, we have hosted over 1,000 programs, welcoming more than 20,000 participants, both veterans and non-veterans. Our events are a testament to the power of storytelling, connecting people through shared memories that educate and inspire.

Events and Programs:

At VBC events, you might hear from a wide array of veterans – from the newest members of the Space Force to 101-year-old World War II veterans. Our gatherings have included Tin Can Sailors, Montford Point Marines, Vietnam Sky Soldiers, Cold War intelligence officers, and many more, each sharing unique experiences from various conflicts and missions around the globe.

We also spotlight remarkable stories like that of Jeanne McKinney, a journalist who illuminates lesser-known episodes of the war in Afghanistan in her book, "Triumph Over the Taliban: The Untold Story of US Marines’ Courageous Fight to Save Camp Bastion." This narrative highlights the resilience, bravery, and strategic acumen of the US Marines during a critical attack on Camp Bastion in 2012, offering profound insights into the complexities of modern warfare.

We invite you to join us at our live, in-person breakfasts held in Sewickley, PA, at Christ Church Grove Farm (249 Duff Rd, Sewickley, PA 15143). The events begin with breakfast at 8:30 am, followed by a 90-minute program where veterans share their service experiences. Volunteer and Participate:

For those interested in deeper engagement, we pair passionate VBC volunteers with military veterans for one-on-one oral history interviews over Zoom. Whether you are a veteran willing to share your story or someone interested in conducting interviews, we welcome your participation.
