"My family and I had a terrible experience here yesterday evening. We called ahead of time and they told us they are open until 8pm. They never once said the last boat goes out at 5pm. We wanted to rent a pontoon boat. We arrive at 5:20pm. As we approach the rental area, the owner and grandson are shouting they are closed. I have never experienced a business owner so rude before. I told her I called in advance, and she said well you didn’t talk to me. I told her we will pay full price for 1 hour and 30 minutes then. She proceeded to say she has a 2 hour minimum. She said I’m not staying a minute after 8pm. We drove 45 minutes and extremely disappointed in the poor customer service we received. She wasn’t trying to accommodate us at all. They even refused service to another family that arrived shortly after us. They called prior as well, and they never said anything to them about arriving by 5pm."

"If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. My family and I went to rent a boat here today. An older woman who claimed that she was the owner, was the rudest, nastiest and meanest human being I have ever met. Every word she said, was said in the meanest manner possible. No hello. No smile. She was the only person working. She clearly didn't want to rent a boat. She clearly hates people. She asked how many people, we said 8 and a 18 month old baby. She snarls at us that even if the baby is 1 day old, she counts as an adult. I said we were only saying her age to make sure you have a small enough lifejacket. She snarls, I have hundreds of life jackets. Then she tells us she needs a $100 cash deposit. We said fine. Then she said the water was choppy and we probably didn't want to go out. (It was not very choppy). We told her we have rented boats numerous times. Then she said there is a two hour minimum. We said that was fine, two hours was what we wanted. Then she snarls "if you are even 1 minute late you will be charged another hour," we said fine. Then she said there will be a refueling charge, tax, etc. We said fine, what is the full price? She would not tell us." Then she screamed that our twelve year old granddaughter was not allowed to stand by the water. Then she said that she and that boy, (our 11 year old grandson), have to wear a life jacket at all times. We said they would. We asked again what is the total. Not telling us. We did not rent a boat. We will NEVER rent a boat there."

"I took my staff here for a group bonding event. We rented a pontoon boat along with a few other small boats. We had absolutely no problems with the boats and enjoyed our time on the water. However, I am leaving a two star review because just about every interaction I had with the staff was unpleasant. When I first called inquiring about prices, etc., whoever I spoke with on the phone told me that the last boat had to go out at 5:30 PM. The website does not say this which was a frustrating because I had already planned my event seeing that they were open until 8 PM. The first person I spoke to on the phone told me that if we made it by 6:30, they would let us have the boat for one hour and just pay the two hour fee. I was fine with that. However, when I called back later with an additional question, a different person told me that there was no way I would be allowed on the water after 5:30. I’m thankful that I had called back with another question or I would’ve showed up at 6:30 and been turned away. I rearrange plans to that my staff could be there before 5:30, and let the person on the phone know that I would be bringing a large group even though they didn’t take reservations. When my group arrived a few days later, the woman at the window who told me she was the owner of the establishment was very unpleasant. She was very short and rude. I am not a very confrontational person, but I was caught so off-guard by how demeaning she was when she spoke to me that I almost said something. She complained about her staff calling off and told me that I was lucky she had even decided to work. I would have been so frustrated after speaking with multiple people on the phone if I showed up on Friday and they were closed, the young man who helped us get our boats in the water was not rude, but I’ve never seen someone so unenthusiastic about their job. Overall, we had a great time on the water, but I was very unimpressed with the staff and the way that we were treated."

"Crescent Bay Boat Rental is a top-notch rental group. There are plenty of boats and a lot of water to explore. Rent a pontoon for an all-day water cruise. Great way to spend a summer day with loved ones. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and down to earth. The owner, Carol, is a blessing who shares her joy and wisdom with customers! She's been through a lot. I love her!!! Perfect 10"
