Reviews
"Glad to have been able to visit this Vietnam Veterans Memorial. This is also located close to the Korean and WW2 memorials on the riverfront. I was a little unsure about this design and layout. I wasn't profoundly impressed with it. But that takes nothing away from anyone who fought and died in that war. I just think the design could have been better."
"Perfect spot to show support for our veterans and an amazing view of Mt. WASHINGTON: The point and cityscape"
"Great place of historic significance.. hats of to veterans around the world…for safe guarding nations and people…"
"Beautiful Vietnam War Memorial on the North Shore of the Allegheny River dedicated to the 421 men from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Vietnam War. DEDICATION PLAQUE: Welcome home to proud men and women We begin now to fulfill promises To remember the past To look to the future We begin now to complete the final process Not to make political statements Not to offer explanations Not to debate realities Monuments are erected so that the future might remember the past Warriors die and live and die Let the Historians answer the political questions Those who served — served Those who gave all — live in our hearts Those who are left — continue to give As long as we remember — There is still some love left. "This monument is a beautiful tribute to the veterans of the Vietnam War. Sadly, it does not appear well-maintained as there were several plastic bottles, cigarette butts, and paper trash strewn both in and around the site. Our veterans and those coming to contemplate the loss of this war deserve a monument that is clean and inviting, not a dump. Otherwise, the views here are pleasant though not stellar. He statuary is moving with scenes of veterans returning home to mothers, children, and spouses."
