Dr. Ponsky is a highly skilled pediatric surgeon with a remarkable background. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland and completed his residency in general surgery at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He further specialized with a pediatric surgery fellowship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and an advanced minimally invasive pediatric surgery fellowship at The Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in Denver.
Dr. Ponsky is a pioneer in pediatric surgery, being the first to perform and report single port surgery in children and modernizing laparoscopic pediatric hernia repair techniques. He is board-certified in general and pediatric surgery by the American Board of Surgery. His contributions to medical literature are extensive, with hundreds of published manuscripts and numerous authored book chapters. He also holds several leadership roles, including associate editor for The Journal of Pediatric Surgery and vice president of The International Pediatric Endosurgery Group.
