"Dr. Wenjia Sun scammed me and charged me almost $1000 after insurance coverage for a routine examination. I called Carle to schedule a routine examination, and confirmed it would be fully covered by my insurance after providing my insurance information to the agent. During the visit on July 9th, Dr. Wenjia Sun told me that my insurance was good and I can take a couple of lab tests for free since this is my annual routine examination. Thus, she requested the lab tests, which I didn’t request for. I confirmed with her a couple of times in person that all these would be fully covered by my insurance. Now I received three bills, $1000 in total. The insurance refused to pay because it was coded as office visit not routine examination. The doctor refused to change the code because I am a new patient. No one told me it would not be coded as routine examination because I am a new patient before the visit. This is not what I scheduled for. I called the billing team and they told me they were sorry but they can do nothing about it. So was the insurance company because Carle refused to change the code which I scheduled for. This is totally a scam and unfair to me. I am pretty healthy but I have to pay $1000 for a routine examination? I filed a claim to DNV to investigate this case. Please dismiss my bills. I shouldn’t pay for it."
"My visit was the worst hospital experience I have ever had the moment I arrived. The people in triage were rude. I sat in the lobby after being called back blood drawn and an IV inserted in my arm. After 90 minutes I had to use the restroom was given a urine collection cup Told to fill it just in case I was then informed I had to sit in the lobby and hold my urine until I was called to the back three hours after my arrival I was called back by a Doctor Who was so dismissive and rude to me that until I Got snippy back was just going to send me home no treatment this visit was not my idea. My primary care physician had told me to come there so I was not going to just leave. I was taken to a room with four curtains off sections and put in a chair with a footstool And left they came did my test left me alone? This is when the nurse came in took my blood pressure for a second time which was extremely high at this point I asked for Tylenol because I was in so much pain from the procedure I had just had done , I was told the nurse would check with the doctor and be back with me. I then sat for an hour waiting to find out if I could take a Tylenol wow the other three curtains around me had multiple nurses and my physician come in and out, so I had my Support person turn on the nurse call light after about 15 minutes. The call light was turned off without anyone ever coming in at that point. I saw a nurse leaving the patient on my right sides curtain. Call them in asked about Tylenol again was told well you know we’re really busy tonight when I said I had asked over an hour ago , which I responded say, I think I’m an idiot. I waited in the waiting room for three hours before getting back here. I’m aware you’re busy. Another 30 minutes goes by my IV ran dry. I had to stand up. Take the IV off the wall leave the room and go in the main hall and flag down a nurse because blood was running out of my IV up into the bags tube And I figured at that point it probably needed to be disconnected from me then asked again about Tylenol. The nurse came back. Maybe 10 minutes later me a shot of fentanyl didn’t ask if it was safe. Didn’t ask if that was OK if I was allergic anything of that nature in my IV walk out I never saw nurse again. The doctor comes in 20 minutes later says about three words gets a phone call leaves and then proceeds to see the patient in another curtain and I’m sitting there waiting another 30 minutes when he finally came back in he said nothing was wrong with me other than the cyst on my ovary was increasing in size in the last 24 hours orders me Vicodin and Zofran and sends me home. I have never been so angry in my life when I read my own results on the portal that said I had three ovarian cysts not the one I was told. It also says that my gallbladder is mildly distended and has a thickening of the wall, both of which could be the cause of the symptoms that caused my PCP to send me in"
"My sister was discharged this morning from Carle Foundation Hospital. This is her second visit in the last month. We have the upmost respect and gratitude for all of the Dr’s and nurses at this hospital. EVERYONE was the most supportive, compassionate and professional people we have ever met. They took our concerns seriously and professionally. Off the top of my head, nurses Jennifer and Trish (not Pat -inside joke) were great. Love them!! Actually, all of them on the 4th floor that we encountered were just as wonderful. Dr.Conrad and his team are so wonderful. We really appreciate the care they provide for my sister. Blessings to to all and a huge thank you!!"
"Carle is hands down THE WORST hospital I have ever been to. They regularly disrespect their own patients rights. 8/10 pain, how about some Tylenol? Chronically ill? Oh you must be drug seeking. They will tell you your blood work is normal, and then when the results become available online they are most certainly NOT NORMAL. One time in 2020 they discharged me after multiple surgeries, despite me telling them something wasn’t right. I was back in the ER 4 hours later being told I had a life threatening infection. Go literally ANYWHERE else!"
