"●Refuses to fill necessary medication ●No communication I do NOT recommend! I was excited to have found a doctor that seemed sincere and actually cared about his patients. After my first appointment, I was informed that he would wait to refer me to the other heart specialist we discussed that handled my type of diagnosis, and possibly another appointment with him for my other heart issue if necessary, but they'd call and let me know all of that. All of this would be done AFTER he received the results from the heart monitor I was to wear. I wore the monitor, sent it back, and waited. Waited. Waited. Figured he was waiting for the results and then going over them, etc. Came to the point almost a month afterwards that I needed a refill on my heart medication. I requested the pharmacy to contact them for a refill before I was out. This did not happen and I ended up running out and had to call the office for a refill (why this medication wasn't given a refill is beyond me) I had to leave a message - no one returned it. I called the next morning when they opened and someone answered. I told them I hadn't received my results and needed a refill on my medication, am completely out. I was informed I'd get a call back. Having received no call back, I called again around 4 pm and left another message. I received a call back about 10 minutes later telling me that Bhakta had sent a referral to the other specialist and would NOT refill my prescription until AFTER I had an appointment scheduled with this doctor. (Uh, what? When did this happen?) I was completely taken aback by this information and asked for confirmation that he knew I was out and the woman calling me confirmed this, adding this apparently was a heart medication he does not regularly prescribe and that when I make the appointment he would only prescribe enough to make it to the appointment day. I'm not sure what him not regularly prescribing the medication has to do with it. You have a patient that is on a heart medication, they're out, fill it. How is it ok to let someone go without a medication they need? I had to make multiple attempts to reach them to get information and now I can't even get the medication I need. On top of all that, I called the number for the place they referred me to and they were closed, so now I'll be going on day 3 with no medication. It's unfortunate to think I had finally found a doctor that knew what he was doing, cared, only to end up with someone that makes up his own little rules as he goes, doesn't communicate with his patients, and would let someone go without medication like this. I don't even know how doctor's get away with this stuff."
