"Angler's Rest was wonderful! Mary Kay was super accommodating and knowledgeable about the area, and gave great advice on what to do around town, where to go, and so on. Her rooms were comfortable and I slept like a log. I stayed for seven nights and wished I could have stayed longer. She is so warm and friendly and her dog Willow was nice to be around as well. She gives visitors full access to the kitchen cooking facilities and outdoor cooking facilities. The living room is hearty and hearth-y, with a nice wood-burning stove and log cabin walls, just the perfect kind of place you'd want to be when you come in wet and cold after a fishing trip or biking or kayaking trip all day in the rain. Mary Kay took me on berry-picking trips and informed me about all that was edible and all that was not. In addition, she makes her own jams, syrups, and jellies out of wild berries and spruce tips she finds in the area, and they are so delicious on French Toast and Pancakes. She was also fun to be around and talkative and warm. I will never forget this experience. I would not have it any other way, would not stay at any other place than Angler's Rest. Sure beats the hell out of some formal, impersonal, Hotel."

"Group of five - we just got back from eight nights at Angler's Rest. Mary Kay made sure everything was perfect for our stay. A great breakfast every morning, help coordinating our daily fishing and sight-seeing plans, and cheerful advice along the way. The house was always warm and clean, and guests are given full access to the kitchen, refrigerator-freezers in the garage, and fish processing area. Having access to a washer and dryer is a HUGE bonus. Angler's Rest is the perfect launching pad for a do-it-yourself trip to Yakutat."
