"In town for work for a few days. The management was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, though if you expect Embassy Suites or Four Seasons-style accommodations, you need to reset your expectations. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in town."

"I was very happy staying here. The owner lady was very kind & helpful. The room warmed up quickly and was quiet. I admired all the old skool wood working. The place is a 100+ years old. Great location right in downtown Driggs Idaho."

"My family stayed at The Pines in January of this year. Our room was in the upstairs/attic of the motel. The best word to describe our room was shabby. Towels were thread-bare and mismatched as well as the bed sheets. The comforters were old, quilted bedspreads dating back to the 1980s. The furniture also was mismatched and worn out. There was nothing pretty or colorful in our room. Everything was just old, brown and musty. The hotel had nothing of the European boutique feel the hosts mention on their website. The outside of the property looks nice and promising, but inside time stood still from 1970. As we went upstairs and walked to our room, the orange carpeting on the walls and random posters and stickers from the 1970s was not cute or eclectic. It was just creepy, cluttered, and dusty. I am not a high maintenance or unreasonable person. I appreciate when a property owner offers a boutique or unique experience, but it is clear the hosts, Nancy and John, have put zero dollars into this place since Nancy inherited it from her Grandmother. Our rate was $125 a night--outrageous for the meager amenities and awful linens and bedding and furniture. We paid $106 at the LaQuinta (on our way out of Montana), and while generic and typical formula we had decent lighting in the room, a fresh clean room, ample bath towels that matched and smelled good, clean and lovely bed linens, a pool, fitness room, free breakfast, coffee maker in room. I think it's time for Nancy and John to sell the place to someone who is interested in providing a quality experience. The place is is need of serious freshening up!"
