"In May of 2023 we contracted with High Country Flooring/ Cabinets to replace our upstairs carpet and vinyl with new flooring. Remove a pony wall and replace it with a Oak railing and build and instal 3 pantry cupboards where a desk and cupboards were. Our home is a rambler in Herriman. The time frame given us was 1(one) week. In case of issues 2 at the most. We paid thousands of dollars in full to High Country Flooring/ Cabinets. It is now August 1st and this project for our home is still incomplete. We have have countless conversations with this company and had daily promises to a completion to this project but yet to know avail. The company continues to post on their website jobs they have completed and here our home sits unfinished and incomplete. I am a widow with several daughters living with me. We have been patient but patience is gone. First, if I had been a man not a woman this project would have been completed on time, correctly the first time and all involved would be happy and moved on. Our home is still in pieces and precious momemtos and personal items (clothes, dresser items) are still in our garage. The flooring we picked out is beautiful but keeps popping up in several rooms. To repair this the worker just super glued it which we are now told voided our warranty. The pony wall was demolished and large holes were put in the drywall remain today. Where the pony wall was the stair well remained a open face for 6 weeks. Because of the elderly and small children we had to build a baracade to prevent some one falling off the edge.The railing is in but not finished. The rough wood, sharp edges, and protruding nails have caused bodily harm to elderly frail skin. It is not stain or finished. We paid to have new base boards installed and painted. They were broken putted, no nail holes were puttied or sanded. There are nails protruding and just painted over. Parts of our cabinetry were discarded leaving us to find new parts. We have to hire a certified electrician to repair the electrical outlets that no longer work. The pantry light to the actual pantry was reinstalled up side down. The pantry cupboards were measured wrong and installed crooked. The mantle piece for the cupboards stuck out on side of the wall and set back on the other side. There were no pegs or shelves for the cupboard and the quality of wood and stains did not reflect Oak Cabinets. The workers finished staining the cupboards on the new flooring and left a severe stain line when we rejected the cupboards. They were not Oak. There was a small amount of oak trim which is standing in the corner. New cabinets were ordered but once again excuse seem to be all we get. The list goes on! Like I said patience has long gone! We have spent our entire summer waiting for phones calls, workers to show up again to no avail. This leads us to contact the Better Business Bureau, the court system and state offices of licensing and our local television service for any kind of help. Highland Flooring/Cabinetry has been doing business for 30 years they keep telling us. After thousands of dollars payed to them. I feel prayed upon."
