"The Monet Lake at Ashton Garden is int he Spring a true representation of Monet's paintings covered with Water Lilies and with hundreds, if not thousands of Koi fish or more specifically "Nishikigoi", a colored variety of the Amur carp. They serve well for decorative purposes in this large outdoor Koi water garden. One of the fun attractions for children is to feed the Koi. When doing so hundreds of Koi fish swim towards the fish food, competing with the many ducks on the lake, providing a nice "show" for children's and adults alike. The Monet Lake is a very nice feature of Ashton Gardens. Definitely worth a visit!"
